My great grandfather's brother Thomas Lancaster Lacey was born in the 1870s on the Isle of Wight (not Man).
He emigrated to Canada in 1909 with his wife Ellen and son Thomas Beech Lacey
He was a painter and decorator, and lived in Fairville, St John, New Brunswick, Canada.
There is so much in common here I feel sure the newspaper simply confused Isle of Man and Isle of Wight.
