Hello Sue

The marriage took place in Cathcart, Victoria on 22nd October, 1857. I've got the marriage record here, but it does not say how long he had been in Victoria.

His death certificate (9th December 1893 at Goornong, Victoria) says he had been in the colony for 40 years, suggesting he arrived in 1853, but I don't know how precise that figure of 40 is.

He appears in the 1851 IOM census and I have a copy of a notice he placed in the Melbourne Argus in November 1855, so we can narrow the date down to about 4 years, or less if the '40 years' on the death certificate can be taken as precise.
