I suspect the Craines acquired Balig (Or Ballalugg as in Composition books) by purchase in 1743 (I guess you have researched the deeds) - my suspicicion is that the Lonan Craines originating with Robert and half sister Alice came (look at her M/C) from Braddan Robert s/o Wm Crain jnr (of How) + Ann Hampton
