I have a Manx ancestor (Joseph WARE) that immigrated to the US in 1827. How could I determine if he spoke Manx at that time? Was Manx spoken more in certain part of the island or by a particular religion? Does anybody know what percentage of the population spoke Manx in 1827? (I know it was 30% in 1871 and only 1% by 1921).
