I've just started looking at my maternal family history and am really pleased its lead me to the Isle of Man.

I wonder if anyone would be able to assist with any information that would help me enormously on my search. I have a question mark around my great great grandparents. I am definite that my great great grandmothers name was Martha Lace Gorry - I don't have a birth or death date for her, although I do know that my great grandmother, Martha Ivy Gorry, her second child (of 7) was born in 1908. I am pretty sure my great great grandfathers name was Claude Gorry. I have found a Claudius Gorry (b. 06/04/89) who was the son of Caesar Gorry and Isabella Cain (plus 7 other children). I just can't definitely link the Claudius Gorry I found, with Martha Lace Gorry so can't be absolutely sure I'm going down the right line.

If I could make the link that would be exciting, because then I can start tracing back from Caesar Gorry and Isabella Cain - but I don't want to go jumping down the wrong route so quickly.

I understand from my Grandmother that the family were net-makers and left the Isle of Man for the West Coast of Scotland, but I'm not sure what date that would be around.
