Thanks for that. Unfortunately it looks like a personal visit to the National Archives is needed. The website did point towards findmypast for an online search for marine deaths, but when you get there, it's as Averil posted, and the dates don't go as late as 1905. It's a bit of an expensive expedition down to the NA, and I've had unsuccessful searches there before, which is a bit off-putting unless I've got plenty of other things to look for as well. I was hoping there'd be an online index at least. Unless I've missed something...
