it's been pointed numerous times that Marriage certificates (ie civil registration) did not start until 1877/8 - before this apart from the extremely few registered under the 1849 act, all you have is the entry in the Parish Register - it was not legally required to give father's names until 1849 tho a few parishes which had bought English registers might have jumped the gun a little earlier. Thus it sounds as tho you have already got all the info from that source - there may (but probably unlikely) have been a note in the local papers - the iMuseum (open Weds thru Sat) makes searching of these for a name much easier than using the microfilms at Museum
