Hales, James b1801

I am researching a James Hales b1801 and his 4th (from what I can gather) wife Mary Fairless. I have their marriage date as 4 jan 1842 and they emigrated to Canada sometime between 1861 and 1871. Ideally I would like the parents of both.....
Everything I have lists James birthplace as England, and Mary's varies from England, Isle of Man to Scotland.
Donna has sent me some info from the Manx books, which leads me to believe there were possibly two James Hales born around the same time as one died in 1829 - a tailor just like the one I am looking for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
