I've been thinking....the real person I've been tracking is Robt. Kelly, William's son. I know from Par. Records that he was the only Robert Kelly christened around 1784 in Patrick...so William Kelly, his father is right. The question is 'Who is William Kelly?'. Robert's mother is Eleanor Cowll...so I need to view her marriage contract. I can't find it on CD Rom, but need to look in Foxdale where Thomas Cowll lived, when next in IOM. (He mentioned marriage settlement in his will)
However I did find contract of W.K. and Alice Keon...evidently he came from Braddan. So I thank you for encouraging me to look at contracts.
