since the Imperial Hotel opened 1848, Blore on the card stated business founded 1847 and that he was a known character I would strongly go with suggestion that the small shop (+ presumeably living accomodation over it)situate on a funny corner looking into Steam Packet Quay and down onto the market area of old Douglas (and apparently a favourite haunt of J M Nicholson who drew many illustrations + paintings of this part of Douglas) was named after said Wm Blore tobacconist (eg another example down other end of Quay was Quine's corner)
