Re: Tracing a Blore ancestor
In Response To: Tracing a Blore ancestor ()

The other niece in the 1861 IOM household of Wm and Eliza Bloor was Ellen Bromley age 16 b LP.

I think I've found her in 1871 age 26 dau dressmaker, with Ellen Bromley head 62 widow stationer, and Martha Bromley dau 28 servant, all b LP.

Edward Bromley married Ellen Hayes in LP in 1838, and I suspect that this baptism below is Ellen's.

So, putting all the bits of evidence together, if Ellen Hayes (mother of Ellen Bromley b 1845, the niece age 16 in 1861) was the sister of Eliza Hayes (wife of William Blore) and also the sister of Charlotte Hayes (mother of Eliza Blore Ford, 6 yr old niece in 1861) whose marriage details (to Henry Ford in 1837) show her father as Joseph Hayes, mariner, then the parents of these 3 Hayes sisters were Joseph Hayes and Ellen Williams (assuming that all 3 had the same mother).

I've just found this census page which ties them together:
