Thank you, Frances, I just found that page and it does help. At this point, we have very little information about our surname's origins - except that the overwhelming majority were Protestant/Presbyterians. This 'sort of' points to Scotland, but we've found little proof of that. Are there any resources that would indicate where the families in IOM came from? I have a lot of reading to do!
