Hello all. I am involved in a one-name study of the surname (Scots or Irish?) McElrea/McIlrea, etc. and just found what seems to be a variant - McYlrea - here.

Can anyone tell me if there is any known connection with these names? Most of our families trace back to Ulster, mainly in County Tyrone near Omagh.
I would love to hear from someone about this name.
