Dollin Kelly in New Manx Worhies suggests he had no Manx genes whatsoever but was born as Henri von Trebich und de Leon in Trebich in Moravia but running foul of authorities fled to Trieste and then to Liverpool where he adopted a suitable name seen on a tombstone - certainly use title 'Professor Henri de Leon' in his writing on philology etc and died under this name
