I've been learning more about this surname in trying to find William. In process I've reconstructed the John Gell/Susannah Maddrell family and parents of Susannah. Susannah's fa John drowned in the 1893 boating disaster that took 13 Rushen men. Turns out John was md twice and each wife was a Margaret Maddrell--isn't genealogy fun!
