Definition of "Youth"

I have a burial of an Edward Gelling "youth" Bra 14 Nov 1794 and am trying to determine who he is.
I also have a marriage of an Edward Gelling (Mariner) 26 Aug 1799 Liverpool St Peter to Ann (Nancy) Bixter.

The best candidates for these are:
Edward bp 5 Jun 1774 Braddan s/o Thomas Gelling & Isabel Craine
Edward bp 27 Sep 1778 Braddan s/o Evan Gelling & Ann Hampton.

My gut feel is that the eldest one matches the marriage and the younger the "youth" burial but perhaps they are the other way around. Could a 20 year old be considered a "youth"? If I have the right person, the bride Nancy Bixter was just under 20 at the 1799 marriage.

And while I'm at it, how young could a "youth" be. Since 14 was considered "of age", perhaps that's the beginning of "youth" and anybody younger would be a "child"?

Thanks for any suggestions.
