the 'home' farm was opposite Bishops Court and I think must have straddled the glen thus putting it in both Michael + Ballaugh, the largest tenanted holding was in Michael (a small mid 19th notebook gives the tenants to be invited to the Demesne Xmas part etc)and it is noted that some are subtenants of this larger holding - most tenants were in Ballaugh and it would seem from their wills grew their own crops and paid a rent to the Bishop - you can often recognize tenants in the wills as anything attached to the ground was the property of the landlord but the roofs of the houses were their property and these occur in the wills - some of these tenants also farmed on their own accord adjacent holdings not part of the Demesne
