Many thanks for the update. It is great that Col has found him in Canada - I wondered where he had disappeared to in 1911 (and also his mother). It looks as though she was buried in Lonan, according to BL's index, so if she went to Canada as well she must have returned to the IOM, if the same person [MORRISON, Margaret Elizabeth 79 Lonan 19 May 1942].
The other reason we didn't find him on the CWGC site was because he died in 1918, not 1916 as you had (info. for your IOMFHS gathering). There were a number of S. Wallace deaths in 1916, but none were buried at the correct cemetery if my guess for VALENCIENNES rather than Balen Ciennes turned out to be correct.

It is terrific that it has all been sorted out!
