Horsley Family

My husband's family has roots from the Isle of Man. Our son is named after my husband's father, Hudson Horsley. He is named after his grandfather, Hudson Horsley, who was born on the Isle of Man. Hudson Horsley was born 8 April 1854 and was christened in the Lonan Parish on 13 May 1854. He is named after his grandmother, Mary Hudson, who was born 14 Mar 1783 in Threlkeld, Cumberland, England. She was not born on the Isle of Man but our records show that she died there and was buried there. Her date of death was 16 May 1853, Lonan Parish, Isle of Man, England. Her husband was Henry Horsley. He also was born in Cumberland and died and buried on the Isle of Man. Our records show that he was born 7 May 1786 at Alton, Cumberland, England and died 12 January 1858, Lonan Parish, Isle of Man, England. Mary's parents are listed as Thomas and Ruth Hudson and Henry's parents are listed as John and Jane Horsley. Henry and Mary (Hudson) Horsley had three daughters - Nancy (b. around 1813?), Jane, and Ann (b. around 1814) - and four sons - Hudson (b 1814 and a clogmaker), John (b. 1816 m. Jane Brammer, and in 1841 was a lead miner in Lonan Parish on Isle of Man), Henry (b. 1819, christen 26 Mar 1818, m. Catherine Raisbeck 11 Dec 1841 and was also a lead miner in 1841 in Lonan Parish on Isle of Man), and William (our ancestor, b. 16 Oct 1822 in Whitehaven, Cumberland, England, m. Mary Bramwell, b. 15 Sept 1823 in Cleator, Cumberland, England.) William and Mary (Bramwell) Horsley emigrated to the U.S. around 1855 or 1856. Their son, Hudson, is the grandfather of my father-in-law. Any verification of these tidbits of information and any corrections or additions would be greatly welcomed. Was very excited to see that the Isle of Man had its own website. Blessings to you from South Dakota, USA.
