Pauline: The 1911 Canada census is the latest census available to the public unfortunately.
The 1916 returns are available on microfilm only and are in the custody of Statistics Canada. The records are closed under the Statistics Act and the Act to Amend the Statistics Act. These aren’t of use to you anyway, as both William and Arthur arrived in Canada after 1916.
The legislation does not permit the disclosure of personal information from post-1916 census returns. Under the legislation, when 92 calendar years have elapsed since the taking of a census, those records will be opened for public use and transferred to Library and Archives Canada.
It appears therefore, that we will have to wait until 2013 to access the 1921 census, and 2023 for the 1931.
There is a family tree on Ancestry.com created by a Sandra Mullan, however, she can only be contacted thru' the Ancestry site. I would be willing to do this on your behalf if you wish. I would need to know your email address. Let me know.
