Rick (Richard),
William PERCY Teare Wade lived with his two unmarried sisters in Ramsey when he worked for Johny Green.
I believe all three remained single although it is probable that all manx Wades are related.
Paul should have worked this out over the last couple of years.
Paul,
Pre. the war effort farmland was either side of the Sandygate to Jurby road.
I later trod this grass many times!
The footprint of the present jail is on what was still mainly grass with a few smaller storage/shelter buildings until the station (R.A.F. Jurby) was decommisioned in 1963.
The life of this station, like any other, has stories as it was like a small village (close nit community).
Over two hundred civilians drawn from the surrounding area clocked in daily.
Plenty of "C", "K" and "Q" there then and this included a Teare descended from "The Fairy Doctor".
There are stories but not of the nature you are suggesting.
They may also be related to social/family history!
However it is Halloween and we may be up to mischief!
I have experienced many images from static electricity etc.
I also live in the mecca of ghost stories-York!
In its later years the Jurby station was an Officer Cadet Training Unit (OCTU) with a number of lonely men couped up in what was an isolated spot in winter.
I cannot tell you what went on in the Corporals Club nor the Senior Officers Mess but one man blew his brains out and a certain pilot dropped a training bomb on the grass near your place of work.
On another occasion a R.A.F. plane crash on North Barrule resulted in the three dead bodies (one decapitated) lying in the Guardroom cells along with personal effects for some days.
Imagine being alone on guard during the small hours.
The first "Jurby Junk" was later housed in the defunct guardroom, ask Stella!
