Hi Frances
The extracted IGI baptisms of the children of William Kelly of Ballalonney, Marown, and Jane Gick b 1792 (married 8 Sept 1810) are frustrating because they give the entry for the Jane you mention bap 1 Sept 1811 (with a death date of 29 Oct 1816 which may or may not be correct), then James 22 March 1818, Agnes 30 Jan 1820, and Elizabeth 7 Oct 1821. There don't seem to be entries for Isabella, a second Jane, or Ann.
William Gick's 1837 will lists the granddaughters in this order: Isabella, Jane, Ann, Agnus and Elizabeth. William Kelly, in his 1823 will, lists his daughters in exactly the same order. Here are 2 possible scenarios:
1) The Jane bap Sep 1811 didn't die. So maybe Isabella was born in 1810 prior to her parents' marriage, then came Jane in Sept 1811, then Ann in 1815/6 (her MI says that she was age 25 on 21st March 1841), James in March 1818, then Agnes in Jan 1820 and Elizabeth in Oct 1821.
2) The Jane bap Sep 1811 died in 1816. In this scenario, you'd have Jane 1811, Isabella 1812/3, a second Jane, twin of Ann, in late 1816, after the death of the first Jane, then James 1818, Agnes 1820 and Elizabeth 1821.
MIs from Old St Runius, Marown:
104. In memory of WILLIAM KELLY of BALLALONNEY in / this Parish who departed this life 5th of January 1823 / Aged 38 years / Also in memory of ANN wife of / JAMES HALES and daughter of the / above who departed this life in the / full triumph of the faith of the / Gospel on the 21st day of March / 1841 aged 25 years.
105. In memory of / JANE KELLY alias GICK / BALLALONNEY in this Parish / who departed this life the 15th of May 1825 / aged 33 years / when sorrowing o'er this grave we bend / which covers her who was our friend / And from her face, her hand, her smile / Divided for a little while / Oh Saviour mark the tears we have shed / For thou didst weep o'er Lazarus dead / Also ELIZABETH / daughter of the above / who died July 24th 1843 / aged 22 years.
From ages given in the censuses, Isabella Clarkson nee Kelly was 29 in 1841 (husband Joseph was 28, so it looks as though there was no rounding down done.) In 1851, Isabella was 39 and Joseph was 38.
In 1871, Jane and Agnes were living together in Douglas. Jane said she was 53, and Agnes 44. Agnes's real age was 51, so Jane may also have knocked a few years off her age. By 1881, Jane said she was 62 and Agnes 58.
In scenario (1) Jane would have been 60 in 1871 and 70 in 1881. In scenario (2) Jane would have been 54 in 1871 and 64 in 1881.
