My family has links to the Gicks of Cordeman. I believe some moved to Cheshire and they were farmers.

I am not fully certain where the 'link' begins but it is on the maternal side of my Newton family.

Either the link is via Marsden ( pre married name of Jane Marsden who married my Grt
Grt, Grt.Grandfather William Newton, at Deane by Bolton in 1830, or Jane Clarkson who married his son Henry James Newton
in Manchester in 1853.
