I made a mistake. Let's hope I'm not as careless in the future, as this is hard enough with the correct dates!

Son of Christian Faith Kelly and John Longford Meller Christian, John Longford Lee Crellen Christian was born 15 Feb 1887 in Peel (as you indicated is in Brian Lawson's index). I have a certified copy of his birth certificate.

The 24 Jul 1853 date is that which I have for John Longford Mellor Christian's birth. The IGI christening date that you provided, of 27 July 1854 for JLMChristian is one year later than his birth, so I'm not sure if 1853 is actually the correct year of his birth. Seems logical that the christening month and day of July 27 would be within the same year of his bdate of July 24th!

AND, I made a typo for Caroline Florence Faith Christian, instead of 1844 it should have been 1884. She died unmarried 23 May 1902 in Cleveland, Oho, USA. So, Jean's find of 1884 in Essex is a good one.
