Thanks, the info does help; it appears that there was a lot of traveling between IoM and the mainland in this family, which, I guess, should not surprise me.

I finally found Brian Lawson's indices.

I found it interesting that the Lawson index also shows Catherine Cannell as one of the possible spouses of John Longford Meller Christian. And, I am assuming it was a first marriage, as the 1884 marriage date listed is the same year in which his daughter Caroline Florence Faith was born.
