The most I've gone back in my family tree is to my great x 5 grandparents John Keig and Anne Cowle and I want to go back to the next generation of Keigs.

When I do a search of John Keigs born before 1749 (as he was married without consent) for Ballaugh we don't see any before or after that are suitable. When we look to the IGI records for Keigs in Lezayre we find a John being baptised to a John Keig and Elizabeth Garret 9 Mar 1739. This would make him 31 when he got married but doesn't mean he was too old. If we look at other potential John Keigs in those records we find a John being baptised to a Wm Keig and Margt Quayle 15 Sep 1754 but this is too late, as according to the marriage record he was not married with consent of parents which is what he would of needed if he was under the age of 21 when married, this John would of been 16 and therefore needed consent.

What else can I do to find his parents? I know they lived in what was called bishops turbury which was in the Curraghs because my great x 4 grandfathers baptism record has him as living in there. I then found a map in the museum with it on and it was in the Curraghs.
