AFAIK the housing development is near the new St Mary's - I didn't notice any change in the churchyard but havn't checked - I can't see that the yard would be turned over to housing.
The old St Mary's is 2 miles or more north near the cronk - can't recall any major development around here - however many of the older stones are badly worn + broken - some tidying out occured some years ago and some intact ctones were moved near the boundary wall.
