I agree that certificates are important when researching.
Ann Kneale, daughter of John Kneale, married Thomas Moore 1870 Kirk Michael; I have viewed the
parish entry and her father is listed as John Kneale, a shepherd. Ann died 1905 and is buried in
Kirk Michael Grave SL 49 - 'In loving memory of ANN wife of THOMAS MOORE Barregarrow, Michael who departed this life June 16th 1905 aged 75 years also THOMAS MOORE husband of the above who departed this life January 20th 1915 aged 85 years.'
In 1861, followed by the 1851 census, and lastly the 1841 census. Catharine Cowley is listed throughout and John Kneale in the 1851 and 1841 and listing his birthplace as Andreas.
Catherine Cowley - In memory of Catherine wife of John Cowley of Ballakinnag in this Parish who died July 25th 1873 aged 87 years Also John son of the above who died March 31st 1844 aged 16 year
The fact that a family of Quayles are listed is not surprising as my maternal grandmother was a Quayle.
