Having taken 24 or so hours off the search to write all info down things are much clearer.
although I have still not found Mary Jane, other than in the 1851 Census. From Tuesday I will have time to spend at the Museum so will check the Parish Reg. as you suggest for the Marriage of James & Jane, also Thomas & Mary/Margaret Kelly . Will keep you informed
