Thanks to Frances' wonderful new CD we know that Jane Hogg and Philip Kissack were presented for "fornication" i.e.. presence of an illegitemate child.

Philip and Jane had 4 other children born after the 1852 marriage.

According to "Seed of Isaac" the above Jane Hogg was b 1815 and died 1894

If these are the right people, it looks as though Jane Kelly Hogg was too busy in 1851 to rear James and Mary.

Do you know how James and Mary ended up?

Of course, all of the above is educated guesswork.
Again, we can long for children named Algernon, or Hortense or something like that and for people to use the same first name throughout their lives.

Be interested to see what the Kelly, Hogg, Kissack, Quayle researchers have to say about all of this.
