I was wondering about Catherine being 'left with grandparents until she was 4'. A possible scenario could be that as Catherine was only just 3 at the time Mildred Eileen was born in Jan 1913 a grandma looked after her in Peel while mum dealt with the new baby. That possibly extended to staying there for the summer - and visiting the shore lots - going home in the Autumn when she would be about 4: by then she would be old enough to keep the memory of coming home, but originally too young to remember going, or how long she'd been away.
