Hi, Frances, and thanks for the rapid response, I have two extracts for weddings of William Cannell and Margaret Teare, one in Braddan on Oct 9th 1784, and another with the same names in Santon on Jan 20th 1784, both with totally different witnesses, and both reputed to be of the parish in which they were wed, so, as neither name is totally uncommon, I guess it has to be coincidence.
