Re: Comish Help Please

Hi Liz & Ellen,

This could be Dorothy under COMAICH in the 1911 census index, boarding with a children's nurse (perhaps there since birth), along with a possible brother? The scan shows "Comaish" for both. I've altered the index entries below to show what I see on the scan (there were several index errors).

The Callisters had no children of their own.

I've come across Lilian Bertha BREW before, born 24th July 1906 at 9 King Street, Ramsey. She was put into the care "of a Mrs.Collister" by order of the court in Ramsey in September 1906, until she reached the age of 16, and her brothers were sent to Canada, after their father died and their mother Julia became too ill to look after them. Lilian Bertha Brew was the aunt of Keith Wright of Sheffield who used to post on this BB (where are you, Keith??). He would have been interested in the information from the 1911 census, not then available.

The other children on the list might also have been there by Court order, which would be worth following up? Keith didn't say how he obtained this information.
