I realise that - my comment was directed at your earlier statement that he was raised in the home from 'birth' - young motherless infants had a very high mortality rate and judging from the later admissions register were not admitted - since by age 5 or so he would remember where he lived then he should be one of the Williams in the 1881 census - there are I think 4 or so of the right age and name
