Re: John Kinnish
In Response To: Re: John Kinnish ()

Sue, On their wedding registry Thomas Kinnish is John's Father and John Corlett is Emily's father the Address was Baldhoon/farmer and emily was Ballaglass.

Ernest's first marriage to May Haslam (Nee Ashworth) was 24 Mar 1926 in Blackpool and then they emigrated to Australia with May's daughter Margaret on the Otranto in January 1928. Robert Joseph didn't emigrate until 1949 with his wife Helen Rushton and 2 of their 3 children Anthony John and Barbara. Their eldest son Robert(known as Robin) had emigrated the year before in 1948. At all weddings, Robert Joseph, John Joshua's and Ernest Thomas's they were all living in Blackpool. They were living there by the 1901 census so went over when the children were very young.

In the 1891 IOM census John Kinnish, Emily and Edmund (emily's son by her first marriage to Benjamin Stowell 1884) they were living at 86 Strand Street, Conchan, Douglas IOM. By 1901 they were now Kennish and they were in Lancashire. Both Emily (d: 1916) and John (d: 1950) died in Blackpool, Lancashire. and were still there with Emily's father John Corlett in 1911 Census.

In 1881 Emily Corlett was living with her parents farmers of some 50 acres at Ballaglass
in 1881 the most probable census I have is for 3 Balldooin Farm House,, Lonan Farmer 70 Acres Employing 2 Son. No mention of a father but Head Widow is Louisa Kinnish with 6 other siblings mentioned.

This is where I don't have confirmation yet as too John Kinnish/Kennish parentage and trying to obtain a birth record for him and perhaps match it to possible siblings and location.
