Re: Tom Brine's line
In Response To: Tom Brine ()

I have had fun today swimming in the Brines
I found a bit more info on Tom G's family.
His parents were William Gibson Brine who died 15 Dec 1903 Malew
Malew Old Yard
#1169
Sacred to the memory of CATHARINE BRINE daughter of WILLIAM BRINE and of SARAH BRINE otherwise GIBSON who departed this life the 27th of June 1851 aged 3 years
Also SARAH ELIZABETH BRINE who died the 20th March 1851 aged 4 months
In the midst of play I was snatched away
Through God's infinate love from parents who loved me ever dear
and friends who loved me sincere to brighter realms above
Also of WILLIAM GIBSON BRINE who died December 15th 1903 aged 48 years

and Mary Hannah Oates who was buried in Malew
BRINE, Mary Hannah 29 Mal 31 Jul 1895 NO Malew MI
She was probably d/o William Oates and Mary Simmons/Symonds who md 25 May 1856 Braddan
Mary was probably buried 4 May 1866 Braddan
William then married Christian/Christine Killip 7 Aug 1866 Braddan
1881 Braddan Census

I got lost trying to figure out who Christian/Christine Killip was

Wm G seems to be b 3 Aug 1855 Malew, ch 9 Sep 1855 St Mary's Castletown s/o William Brine mariner and Sarah Gibson who md 6 Aug 1846 Malew.
William was b abt 1819, census says in Rushen but I don't find him in the IGI.
Sarah remarried Thomas Kelly in Braddan 13 Aug 1867
