You mention receiving a photo of Clucas Joughin from a family in Canada. i assume this is because he moved to Canada where he died. John Joughin MHK, his father was in turn the son of John Joughin and Catherine Clucas (Kitty the Chaney). Old John died in 1868, so I assume there is very little chance of any family photos surviving from that era, but if you are in touch with the family in Canada, would there be a chance that you could ask if there is anything of that vintage.
In his novel "Gorry Son of Orry" Clucas Joughin referes to a Peel lugger HOPE, ownen by Keownmoar. As John Joughin's will of 1868 refers to a lugger names HOPE, I suspect that CJ drew on childhood memories of his grandfather's boat in writing the novel.
