My mother, born 1900 was related to Elizabeth Eleanor Cowell, her father Louis Henry Cowell and Elizabeth were siblimgs, she referred to Frederick William Oates as her uncle. They had 14 children and at one time lived at 6, Drury Lane, Douglas. Elizabeth Eleanor was a general servant at a house in Princes street Robert became a soldier. One daughter Frieda who died in 1985 had a daughter also named Frieda who is a keen genealogist. On my last visit to the IOM in 2002 I found Frieda who gave me a copy of her Oates family tree. I will gladly post you a copy of Friedas family tree
