I once tried to trace an Ellen Corkill who was buried in Lonan aged 51, d.8 Aug.1916, and who was recorded as granddaughter on the same gravestone as Thomas Corkill [b.1816], and wife Mary.
She was living with her grandparents in 1881 & 1891 censuses [recorded as daughter, but this wasn't possible].
I ordered her decree and found that her brother Arthur Corkill petitioned the Court after his sister Ellen's death in 1915.
Both at the same address: 12 Dale St., Ramsey.
I didn't find bapts for either of them.

I couldn't place Arthur at all, until Brian Lawson kindly found:

Arthur Corkill, apprentice, 17, apprentice baker, Ramsey

1881, Toxteth Park, Lancs, 57 Ponsonby
Margaret Grace, head, married, 22, Ramsey Isle of Man
