I won't argue with you on the board except to say that my own engineering/computing/science background does not have the same attitude to data that I find in the arts side (and amongst some family historians) who believe that discovered material 'belongs' to the finder and is not to be shared except on their terms. My own site, always freely available, was an attempt to allow others to make their own decisions (probably not as well informed as yourself) based on the data - 'priestcraft' is useful but died in the middle ages.
