Sorry, I omitted that William (b. 1839)was also born Whitehaven. I couldn't find him in 1861, but in 1871 he was married to Jane from Carlisle, and in 1881 he was married to Mary (also Carlisle!)though he was living in Whitehaven at both census'. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be the same family. Thanks anyway for replying.
