I am looking for connections of William Bridson who was born 1809. He married Hannah Varley(nee Stamper) in Malew 9th September 1837 and as Hannah was born Cockermouth Cumberland, I assume that it was William's birth town. He was certainly born IOM c 1809 according to Census information and was a sailor. They were in Whitehaven, Cumberland by the 1841 Census and William died just before the 1861.
They had William(b 1839), Margaret (b 1842), Thomas(1844- my GGF), Hannah(1847), Ann(1849) & Joseph (1851).
My Mum believes that William was related to the Kennaugh family who arrived at the same time, I know there was a marriage later so this may not be the case. (My father died in 1966)
There were certainly connections with the Steam Packet Company so I would love to hear if any of my information sounds as though it might link up.
