The grass is always greener somewhere else. Of course there were ads in Canadian papers to promote immigration at the turn of the century - same with American and Australian papers too. People will always follow employment.Better land to farm or more available to buy at a lower cost and the romance of travel played a part also.G.Grandfather Daniel Quark, and family came over about 1910-11 from Bride area . Few Quarks left there but I've a lot of Quark cousins here in Canada . Also know that there are distant cousins in Aus. Desendants of the Mr. Christian of Mutiny on the Bounty fame. Related to Kelly's , Clarks, Lace's, Cragg's and more. Been to the I.O.M. in 1984 for our honeymoon.Want to go back again.Anybody know my family there or if any possible relatives see this - the legs of Man have traveled far - Hi, cousins ! M.
