I am not actually researching the above name but whilst visiting a small historical gold mining town in south eastern Victoria, Australia called "Walhalla" I came across the following wooden grave memorial and thought that it might be of interest to somebody researching the Scarff name:

"In memory of JOHN SCARFF born in Len, on the Isle of Man, died 2 April 1885, Aged 48 years."

I hope this is of assistance to somebody.
