I am not aware of Mona Street, Douglas, being renumbered. The nature of the street has changed from family homes in the winter/boarding houses in the summer, then later to primarily flats - holiday, then permanent, although there are still some family homes.
The Mount Havelock buildings have been demolished and rebuilt, and two of these form the bottom buildings in Mona Street, but are not a Mona Street Address. There is little change in the face of Mona Street in the nearly 50 years I have known it, and on older family photographs. As you look towards the sea, the odd numbers are on the right, and the evens are on the left. The numbering starts above the lane, i.e. no. 1 is the bottom right hand house, and no. 2 is the bottom left hand house. All the houses are different sizewise. I cannot recall any two being the same. Susanne.
