I'm not convinced by Frances's answer on "Church Road, Maughold", I
think she may be confusing it with Church Rd, Ramsey (or similar). My
ancestors were living in Church Rd, Maughold in 1861. The census records
it immediately after Port Moaar................My ancestors referred to
it as "The Jalloo" in 1863 i.e. the road leading from Port Moaar back up
to the Maughold Church.

The Rd is very definitely in the vacinity of the Maughold Church. Tom
Corteen, who lives in the Maughold region could have an answer for you.
