Daniel Minay married my g-g-g-aunt Betsy Kneale at Braddan in 1850. Daniel was said to have had a music shop in Douglas, and to have died young. I have found three children for the couple, but I think only Catherine (b 1854) survived. She went to live with my g-g-grandparents in Birkenhead. The name Minnie Minay also comes into the family oral tradition.

There is a Minay in Douglas who runs a garage. He came out in his truck to get my car going when it broke down in Port Erin. He had not heard of my people.
