I had assumed that because someone had lived in the south of the Island all their life (as far as I knew), and had been buried there, then they must have died there too. I was forgetting that after the 1860s the Isle of Man started building Hospitals and Lunatic Asylums. So if you're struggling to find a record of death don't forget to search Douglas (Nobles Hospital), and Braddan (Ballamona and the White Hoe Isolation Hospital)!
