I think they ran away to Scotland ( Granata Green, not sure on the spelling of that) to get married . The story my Mom tells is that Christina's Mom had died by that time and she ( daughter) didnt want to leave her father alone with all the children still living at home. So they were married, then Christina returned home to live untill her father found out that she was married
