a few (2 were mentioned in a 1906 report) - the Buchan school in Castletown was probably the best after a very poor period pre 1920 after which more money was found, the premises improved and more boarders taken on (now affiliated with King William's) - some discussion in vol 2 of Hinton Bird's "An Island thatr led" history of manx education
